All pottery classes are held at our Arts Hub – 99 Leinster Grove, Thornbury.

Pottery Beginners 

Start with a our beginner pottery course and learn the fundamentals of hand building with clay, under the guidance of our experienced and patient tutors.

Pottery General

Out general pottery classes offer student the opportunity to work on their own projects at their own pace with the guidance and support of an experienced and patient tutor.

Pottery for Kids – After school

Our pottery for kids program is for young people aged between 8 – 14 years. This six week program with an experienced kids pottery tutor provides a fun environment to develop hand building clay techniques and allow children to explore their imagination. Clay and firing costs are all included in the kids pottery course.

Come join one of our pottery classes where you can hand build pieces in a supportive and relaxed environment.

Have a go at one of pottery wheels and learn the techniques of glazing your work in our dedicated pottery workshop, with firing onsite.

You will learn all the necessary skills and techniques to make you into a pottery specialist, guided by an experienced pottery teacher. Use your new knowledge to create items for around your home or even make gifts.

Some students maybe interested in selling their works at our Art & Craft market (talk to us more about that opportunity).

There are multiple pottery classes so please make your suitable choice and as our classes are very popular please ensure you have your enrolment completed early to secure a place.


  • All fees quoted for classes are The Bridge standard fees.  You may be eligible for an “On time discount” if paid by advertised date.  Contact us for further information.
  • To be eligible for ACFE funding you must be an Australian Citizen or New Zealand Citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident. Free Childcare is available for students enrolled in these classes – Contact us for eligibility requirements
  • The “Fee for Service” cost applies if you do not meet ACFE funding criteria
  • To be eligible for a concession price for ACFE Funded Programs, you must have a Commonwealth Health Care Card
  • To be eligible for a concession price for Non Funded Programs, you must have a Commonwealth Health Care Card or a Seniors Card
  • Please note courses will be held at either Preston or Thornbury locations. Please check when enrolling on course location for confirmation
  • Please note that The Bridge Preston and The Bridge Thornbury do not run classes on public holidays
  • Membership – Annual Membership is small fee of $10 per year. Each membership comes with an email or hardcopy of our term planner and voting rights at our Annual General Meeting
